As we work together to best support our customers during these unprecedented times, SMS Equipment would like to share some of our actions to ensure we continue to support your business and the safety of all. We are monitoring the rapid COVID-19 developments and following the recommendations set out by Health Canada and our local provincial and federal public health officials. We have a clear business continuity plan to minimize any business disruption to your operations. Our SMS Equipment team is working and here to support you, with health and safety as our shared priority.
We have taken the following steps to provide continued customer support and ensure the well-being of those we work with.
  • Ensuring we have a safe and healthy workforce to support you, including the implementation of return to work policies following any travel, mandated self-isolation on any sign of illness, social distancing practices, and visitor screening protocols.
  • We remain committed to meeting your critical business needs by ensuring that we have a healthy workforce ready for deployment. We continue our on-site service support with our customers in accordance with any required safe work practices.
  • Your Sales Representatives and PSSRs continue to be available by phone, text and email for any questions and concerns that arise. They will work closely with our customers to ensure our teams are compliant with your new engagement policies and on-site support requirements.
  • We are engaging with our suppliers to ensure supply chain continuity at both the equipment and parts levels. We will be proactive and provide notice to our customers of any potential shortfalls that we believe could impact business operations.
  • We are adding flexibility and accelerating new Parts ordering mechanisms to facilitate the safe distribution of Parts to your operations. Our normal Parts distribution remains open, with the option of using ePortal, our online parts store, for all your purchases. Please contact your local branch for other new Parts supply options.
During this time of uncertainty, all of our branches continue to be open for business.  Our teams are here to assist. SMS Equipment is in a unique position to support you from any of our national locations. Our team will continue to monitor this ever-changing situation and make the best decisions for the health and safety of our employees, customers and the communities in which we work.
