For the second straight year, we outpaced total equipment sales, plus grew market share in both the mining and construction sectors.

While demand for conventional products and services grows, the market continues to evolve toward technological and digital solutions. The Komatsu Autonomous Haulage System for mining and intelligent Machine Control for construction are examples of leading technologies enhancing the equipment line-up. This year, as part of our commitment to be your number one equipment and solutions provider, SMS Equipment increased the number of trained service personnel, added to our advanced technologies team, and expanded parts support through numerous facility upgrades. We took on each of these endeavors to proactively fulfill your parts, technology and service requirements.

A banner year for growth and optimism, 2018 was also highlighted by numerous milestones for our company.

SMS Equipment celebrated its tenth anniversary, introduced the Takeuchi line of compact equipment enhancing the range of equipment solutions available to you, and delivered the 100th 400-ton 980E haul truck - Komatsu’s newest and largest addition to its line of ultra-class, electric-drive trucks.
