Takeuchi has been a pioneer in the compact equipment industry since 1963. Its new TB250-2 compact excavator is a testament to Takeuchi’s high standards and meets the needs of today’s contractor. The manufacturer’s newest excavator in the 4.5-metric-ton weight class fills the gap between its TB240 and TB260 models.

With the versatile TB250-2 operators can adjust hydraulic flow rates from the cabin, which allows for multiple attachment presets. A primary auxiliary circuit that delivers 9.17 L/min, a detent mode for continuous flow attachments and a proportional thumb wheel provide precise control for maximum attachment functionality.

The operator controls the machine from the ergonomically designed open canopy or enclosed cab. The automotive-style interior features a deluxe high-back suspension seat with adjustments for height, weight, fore and aft position as well as tilt. Controls are intuitive and include a multi-functional monitor, sealed rocker switches for various machine functions, dial-type throttle and hydraulic pilot joysticks.

A 29.1 kW Tier 4 Final engine powers the machine. An operating weight of 4,970 kg (canopy) or 5,120 kg (cab) is displaced over 400-mm rubber or optional steel tracks resulting in a ground pressure of 29 kPa (rubber) or 30 kPa (steel). Standard, ECO and high-altitude working modes allow the user to operate efficiently in any environment.

The compact excavator features a 1,760-mm arm with an integrated thumb mount. A dual pin position bucket, mechanical bucket quick coupler or main pin hydraulic thumb can be added in place of the thumb mount for added versatility.

When excavating, the operator can achieve a maximum depth of 3,780 mm and a max reach of 6,120 mm using the standard long arm. Loading material into a truck is possible with a maximum dumping height of 4,045 mm. When lifting material over the front of the machine with the blade down, the operator can excavate up to 1,638 kg of material at a 3,657-mm extension or up to 2,545 kg at a 2,743-mm extension.

Convenient service access

Minimizing downtime is critical to any project’s success. By constructing the TB250-2 from a steel frame with a wraparound counterweight, uptime and machine durability are increased.

The TB250-2 features an overhead-opening service hood with a lockable mechanism providing protection from vandalism when closed. When open, the service hood offers quick access to key daily inspection points.
